The UK | An educator from the University of Bath Tackling Early Leaving Programme (TEL) delivered a presentation to a working group of educators who support English Language learners across the whole of the South of England

Venue: Online Event - The Uk

On the 18th of May, an educator from the University of Bath Tackling Early Leaving Programme (TEL), as part of the Orienta4YEL study, delivered a presentation to a working group of educators who support English Language learners across the whole of the South of England. Her actions are part of the programme aim to support refugee children's English Language development by focussing on activities for labour market preparation.

Since last July, she has been on the training programme arranging a series of one-to-one mentor meetings conducted over a term with refugees in school. Her role is to provide English language support focusing on helping young people prepare for the future by building personalised plans outlining the educational journey they needed to realise their career aspirations. She also developed a series of supplementary activities aiming to build vocabulary in their related work fields as well as to build their confidence and understanding of the process to achieve them.

This educator was selected for her work on the actions to present in front of a working group of Ethnic Minority Achievement Service (EMAS) Teams working from different local education authorities across the whole of South East England.
